Pets at your workplace Pets are welcome here on confirmed days. Bringing a pet is a privilege, not a right: it can be paused or withdrawn if these rules are not followed or if the arrangement stops working for the team. 1. Who this covers This policy covers every pet brought in by a member of your workplace. Dogs are the usual office pet. Cats and other animals need an admin's agreement first, and small animals stay in a secure carrier or enclosure. Assistance dogs are not covered by this policy and are always welcome; tell an admin if you use one so we can make any adjustments you need. 2. Before your pet's first visit - Add your pet in PetShift and wait for an admin to approve it. - Your pet's vaccinations and parasite treatments (fleas, ticks and worms) are up to date, as advised by your vet and required where you live. - Your pet is house-trained, at least 6 months old, and comfortable around new people and other animals. - Your pet has no history of biting or aggression. - Check that your liability insurance covers your pet at work. In some places it is required by law for dogs. 3. Booking - Only bring your pet on days confirmed in PetShift. - Respect the daily pet limit. If a day is full, join the waitlist instead. - Cancel in PetShift if your plans change, so someone else can come. 4. While you are here - You are responsible for your pet at all times. Keep it with you or under your supervision; never leave it alone. - Keep a lead with you, and use it in shared areas, lifts, stairs and entrances. - Pets stay out of kitchens, food areas, toilets and any area marked pet-free. Meeting rooms only when everyone in the meeting agrees. - Bring a water bowl and a bed. Pets stay off shared furniture. - Take your pet outside for regular toilet breaks and clean up immediately, inside and out. - Others may not feed your pet. Many human foods are harmful to pets. - Ask before touching someone else's pet, and let people choose not to interact. 5. Colleagues come first Some colleagues have allergies or are afraid of animals. If that is you, tell an admin privately; you do not need to explain why. We may arrange pet-free days or areas. Pet owners are asked to respect these arrangements without question. 6. If something goes wrong - Take your pet home if it is unwell, stressed, noisy or disruptive. - Report any bite, scratch, injury, accident or damage to an admin the same day. - You are responsible for damage your pet causes. - After an incident, an admin may pause your pet's visits while the team decides what happens next. 7. Changes Admins review this policy from time to time. When it changes, you will be asked to read and accept the new version before your next visit. This policy is a starting point, not legal advice. Your workplace should check its lease, insurance and local rules, and adapt it. Before their pet's first visit, each owner confirms: 1. My pet's vaccinations and parasite treatments are up to date. 2. My pet is house-trained, at least 6 months old, and has no history of biting or aggression. 3. My liability insurance covers my pet at work where the law or this workplace requires it. 4. I'll only bring my pet on days confirmed in PetShift. 5. I'll keep my pet with me or supervised, and out of kitchens, food areas and pet-free areas. 6. I'll clean up after my pet straight away and take it outside for regular breaks. 7. I'll ask before others touch or feed my pet and respect colleagues with allergies or fears. 8. I'll take my pet home if it is unwell, stressed or disruptive. 9. I'll report any bite, injury or damage to an admin the same day and cover damage my pet causes. 10. I understand bringing a pet is a privilege that can be paused or withdrawn.
